This sweet babe came right before winter storm Jonas made it’s appearance. Too much later and Evan might have been born at home! If you couldn’t tell, his parents are completely smitten with their beautiful baby boy, and I’m sure relieved, that he came when he did.
Again and again it hits me – I am so blessed to be invited to document some of the precious moments that make up a lifetime. I’m also coming to believe that photographing in homes is one of my very favorite things. Home is such a sacred space. Not only does it tell you a lot about who a family is, but it’s filled with a spirit you can’t find anywhere else.
Evan’s home certainly meets those descriptions… filled with beautiful artwork (like an elephant above the bed!) and vibrant pops of color, it’s a home that leaves you happy to be alive and yearning for adventure! His nursery, especially, was perfectly pulled together without carrying too much of an in-your-face theme. I shared this picture on Instagram soon after getting home, with the caption, ‘ “As soon as I saw you I knew a grand adventure was about to happen.” -A.A. Milne ‘. And I kid you not, I didn’t even notice it hanging on the gallery wall in Evan’s nursery until I started editing! I couldn’t get it out of my mind.
I’m so very grateful to Taylor, Rachel and Evan for giving me the gift of stepping into their world for an hour. What a beautiful world it is!
